  7. Make a substantial amount of money (Might as well put it on my wish-list…!)
  8. Save money (Kinda tied together with #7)
  9. Not budge on my principles (Stand for what I feel is right. For me. Yea!)
  10. Watch more old movies with the classic stars (Already started!)

What are your plans/wishes for 2010?

George solo on X-factor Sunday, Dec 13 2009

Was it live…?

It almost sounded like the vocal was on and off live and recorded. Not a very convincing vocal to me…? At times you can tell it’s live (or pre-recorded live…), but… I dunno.

I want to know… Sunday, Dec 13 2009

…which part of FUCK OFF is so bloody hard to grasp?

George and Joe – ’twas OK Sunday, Dec 13 2009

I’m the first to admit that I was a bit afraid of this duet, but having heard it now, at least it wasn’t a complete train wreck. Like, it has to be said, the duet with Pavarotti on this song was. But call me cynical: Let’s be honest, George didn’t do this cause he thinks Joe has “a great future”, he did this to promote his live DVD / “new” Christmas song.

I’m not going to go with the hype and say that I think Joe has “an amazing/fantastic/incredible voice”, cause I actually think he’s completely average. Sure, he can hold a note. A lot of people can hold an uninspiring but nice note, but it makes me wanna switch over. If I should compare him to someone, it’s Gareth Gates. If he wins, he’ll have a great year ahead of him, at least.

George looks great though! Same goatee as the last time he did that song (in Modena). Looks fit and tanned, clearly in a good mood. Has his vocal been better? Yeah. Was it on purpose to not make the poor fella he was singing with feel and sound completely crap? Who knows, maybe he’s become that generous.

My bet is that from this I’ll get a) a bunch of upset George fans and/or b) an even bigger bunch of upset Joe fans. Still, that doesn’t take away from the fact that my “Don’t let the sun” vote goes to this version below. Clearly, as I think this was around the time of their collective (vocal) peaks. And yes, I actually can compare the two versions. I just did. ;)

Honey for inflammation Wednesday, Dec 9 2009

I’ve been “fortunate” enough to get an inflammation in my wrist. Calcification in my right wrist and inflamed tendon. It was basically sore from my little finger to my shoulder. It started on Friday at work, escalated over the weekend and hit its peak on Sunday night. I couldn’t move my wrist at all, it was frozen in a bent-to-one-side position and if I even thought about moving it, it hurt like hell.

So, how am I writing this on Wednesday? Well, as soon as I had it diagnosed, it started calming down. It’s almost like my stress caused this to happen so I’d get two weeks off. Don’t get me wrong, I still have the hand in a supporting thing so I won’t use the wrist and it’s not in great shape. Difference is, now I can use my fingers without wanting to cry and it’s no longer bright red. Iow, inflammation seems to have vanished in 2 days instead of 2 weeks as anticipated.

I can’t take anti-inflammatory drugs. I was prescribed one that I know I have bad reactions to, so the doc gave me a 2nd drug to take that would make the first one less hell. Fantastic, right? I wouldn’t know, I didn’t take either of them. Instead I took my friend’s advice and covered the inflamed area with honey. Just regular honey that was available in the cupboard. That was yesterday when I was still whimpering when moving, and today I’m bloody typing.

Imagine that!

George, interviews & X-factor Wednesday, Dec 9 2009

I had a chat with Remarkable the other day and I think I’m buying his theory as to why George is being so – pardon my bluntness – fucking boring in interviews.

  1. Doing interviews is a part of selling. If he doesn’t promote, he doesn’t sell (not that I can see how acting like a narcissistic knob is gonna generate any sales…) but he hates it.
  2. So what does he do?

  3. He gives them nothing. Simply regurgitating everything he’s said in ditto interviews for the past 10 or so years, gives them nothing new, only different spins on things they already know. Things that have been “breaking news” a million times before. Sit back and watch the circus repeat itself.

Has it repeated itself? Yes it has.

David Furnish has been in the press talking about how George’s “close friends” keep banging on their door to drag George out of the shit. Since when were George and Bono so fucking close? I think those actually close to the man will have the balls to tell him he’s being a narcissistic, drug-taking, sex-obsessed twat if that’s what they thought of him. If they don’t have the guts to do it themselves, they’re not really close. In my opinion.

X-factor

So. He’s duetting with Joe McElderry. At least he wasn’t the worst on George Michael week – although he was technically doing an Elton John song. Seriously though. I strongly suspect George will want to duet with this kid on “Don’t let the sun go down on me”. To piss off Elton. ;)

To be honest, I find it desperate and a bit below someone that calls himself a serius artist to go on a show that’s designed for wannabe-singers to have their 15 minutes. Especially as he’s been trashing those shows for, I dunno, ever?

Maybe he’s trying to make his last 15 minutesĀ  last a bit longer – now that he’s changing directions music-wise and stuff. Hopefully this doesn’t include being a judge on Idol or X-factor next year to compliment his new style of middle of the road bollocks with an addition of duets with past winners of talent(less) shows.

If that’s the case, then he’s become his own worst nightmare. Certainly mine.
